Indonesia has received 9.435 million tourists in 2014. Coming primarily from East Asia and the Pacific, an important number of tourists also came from Europe. Entering the country through airports (about 74%), they also come from the sea (about 25%) and, for a marginal part, from land (0.6%), as the country shares only a few land boarders with Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste.

Tourists spent a total of 11.567 billion US$ in the country in 2014, with 1.306 billion US$ on passenger transport and 10.261 billion US$ on their travel. Their habits show an average length of stay of 7.66 days and an average daily expenditure of 154.40 US$.
